The locally designed homewares brand LOPE presents its original short film and first collection.
“To launch its new Melbourne-based homewares line, the pair behind Lope have produced a short film that captures the heart of the label.
The Melbourne design duo – Liz Chadwick and Amy Yu – seek to bring a sense of originality back into the every day through their print-focused textiles.
As you’ve probably gathered, we’re into art. Our retail store and gallery space is helping others get their work out in the world. We also host a number of events like screenings, exhibitions, talks and book launches.
We want to make sure you have a valuable time volunteering with Junior Space, and get a taste of what it is like to work in and run a small gallery.

WHAT IS JS2?
Junior Space is undergoing a restructure of the space mid-year. The front space will become an additional gallery space (JS1) that will be invitation based. JS2 will be the second gallery space and located up the stairs along with the store.

Melbourne-based photographer and filmmaker James J Robinson launches his first solo photobook: a publication shot around Japan, South Korea and Australia that deconstructs the principles of contemporary fashion photography.
Shot primarily after midnight, only using available light provided by stores and streets that leave their lights on, AEVOE’s third publication ‘After Hours’ aims to recycle energy wasted on empty streets to act as the light source for a number of disparate fashion photoshoots.

Who is Junior Space?
Junior Space is a gallery and art retail space located on Smith Street in Fitzroy. The gallery provides an accessible platform for the exhibition and sale of artworks by emerging artists. Junior Space holds a non-traditional vision of a gallery with an emphasis on project and exhibition concepts designed to push the definition of a traditional gallery space.

FOCUS: Camera & Zine Fair
Bloom Publishing & Hillvale have teamed up once again to take over the Abbotsford Convent Community & Linen Rooms for their 3rd annual camera and zine fair! Bringing together some of the best camera hoarders and printed matter enthusiasts Australia has to offer.
Currently exhibiting here at Junior Space, Kat Phillimore is hosting a Life Drawing class this Tuesday evening.
Come and check out Kat’s exhibition Indecent Fascinations on the final evening of the show, have a drink, let your creative juices flow and learn a thing or two about drawing from the artist herself.
CLEANSKIN CINEMA is a not-for-profit event founded on the simple notion that watching film without forewarning of the whole narrative arc (most trailers) allows for greater immersion.
CLEANSKIN CINEMA also allows for local Film Makers to screen films missing from the mainstream media feed paired with cleanskin wine.
