Junior Space Volunteer Program 2017

As you’ve probably gathered, we’re into art. Our retail store and gallery space is helping others get their work out in the world. We also host a number of events like screenings, exhibitions, talks and book launches.

We want to make sure you have a valuable time volunteering with Junior Space, and get a taste of what it is like to work in and run a small gallery. We aim for you to experience all elements of an exhibition from opening night through to the de-install at the end. If there’s anything you’re particularly interested in, just ask.

Here’s some of the things you’ll help us with:

installs/de-stalls
Exhibition openings
Invigilation and greeting visitors
Help us promote our exhibitions and store through social media
Support with the exhibition program
Artist research and suggestions
NOTE: We are at not-for-profit space and this is a voluntary, unpaid position.

We require a minimum commitment of two weekend shifts per month. Shifts are 3-4 hours in length. The program runs for 6-12 months. Shorter durations are available, though we suggest a minimum of 3 months so that you can really get the most out of being a volunteer with Junior Space.

References: We would be happy to be a reference for you at any time during or after your internship.

If you would like to volunteer as a part of your course or degree for credit, we are happy to work with you to meet such requirments.

We require dedicated and reliable volunteers to help us keep our doors open to the public.
Please send a CV and short cover letter to hello@juniorspace.om.au explaining why you would like to volunteer with Junior Space.
